WALES – CAM PEDWARN
After a very tranquil rest stop in the woods for two nights, I follow the Sustrans route 8 towards Caernarfon and its famous Castle.
The route follows the Porthmadog railway line to Caernarfon.

Chygarkye Woods 21th May 2014
I leave what has to be a superb wild-camping spot in Chygarky Woods. The day is bright and dry. Dry always been the key word!
I don’t have to far to go towards my rest day at the YHA Coverack.
Loving the little nested cottages tucked away amongst the Cornish lanes.

Going Nowhere Slowly – A Micro Journey
I start the day with a dutiful photo outside the The Catlins YHA. Home for the last five months.
Over that time I’ve photographed well over thirty cyclists as they’ve passed through, now it was my turn. At last!

Seems to be a calling of some kind! But, then, it’s a very friendly place. As one guest from Alaska pointed out while here in the camping. He said he’d never felt so safe as here. Why? I enquire.
The chance of being shot is near zero. The chance of being mugged is near zero. The chance of been bitten is zero. You have four respectable seasons. Eden is not far of.
Doug and Ross, native Kiwi hobbit’s with their various forms of trailers. Not sure about the trailer method myself. Bit like Marmite! Continue reading

I’m out the door and on my bike again. Only 12 days after arriving at The Catlins YHA. One word, chilled!

The Windy Cat
I leave Craig and little Jett to their solitude. Some like it, some don’t! Some just go mad with it! Others find it spiritual!
I head out towards Balclutha. The plan been to cycle north and Cromwell, with the idea of missing the headwinds I was picking up cycling clockwise! Continue reading
